Debbie Rowe , the mother of Michael Jackson ’s two older kids, claims that the children’s guardian, grandmother Katherine Jackson , wrote a letter to Michael’s estate asking that the estate cover “reasonable attorneys fees” incurred by Rowe during last year’s custody case over Prince and Paris . Rowe, in court papers filed Tuesday, presents a copy of a letter she says was written by Katherine Jackson’s counsel, in which Katherine requests that Michael’s estate pay for Rowe’s “reasonable attorneys fees relating to the guardianship [of Michael Jackson's children.]” “Deborah Rowe and her attorney were very cooperative in helping the guardianship action go smoothly,” the letter adds. Michael Douglas told Parade magazine he had no choice but to go public with his cancer. “When you are a celebrity, nothing remains secret for very long. If it helps bring attention, then that is a major upside to this whole thing,” the ‘Wall Street’ actor told the publication.

Not letting his cancer diagnosis define him, Michael Douglas appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman ” on Tuesday in good spirits. The ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ star was diagnosed with throat cancer three weeks ago after complaining of a sore throat at the beginning of the summer. He joked, “The time is never a good time for cancer, but particularly with a movie opening. It wasn’t the best.” Michael has completed the first of eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy to beat the illness, which he admitted “knocks you out really hard.” He appeared happy and healthy on the talk show “because I’m on stage.” Following the advice of his father Kirk Douglas , he said, “Kirk would say, ‘Son, you gotta look good. You’d never know we might have cancer.’” Although his cancer was diagnosed as being stage four, Michael remains optimistic about making a recovery. He said, “Percentages are very good…it looks like it should be about 80%.” After his eight weeks of treatment are completed, his case will be reevaluated to determine if surgery is necessary

Danny DeVito will reportedly accept an award at the Zurich Film Festival on behalf of pal Michael Douglas as the star undergoes chemotherapy. According to The Hollywood Reporter , DeVito will accept the Golden Icon Award on behalf of Douglas on October 3, an appearance Douglas canceled in order to treat a throat tumor.
